Our love at first
Sight
For me
Blush on my cheek and knees.
Like Peace Rose petals softly caressing
Was your palm upon my face.
Our first kiss
In the cool dim light of a July morning.
Like watermelon cooled for a summer’s day
Pink innocence.
Sunsets spent together
Scents of snow cones, warm pavement,
Star-filled reflected depths of your eyes.
Sweating cool glass of bubbly rose´
Soft laughter
Singing
Pink baby toes and sighs
Sleepless nights.
But after
Pink lens that colored all things beautiful
Unwrapped
Short-lived
Savored strawberry Starburst
In light of years.
How you used to kiss my forehead
With soft warm lips
Dancing in the kitchen
With hands on my hips.
Now pink are my eyes
From days, nights, years of tears
Pink ache throbbing from my heart
Discarded
By you.

Heart completely broken! But just as Neil Young told us, “only love can break your heart.” And your poem makes the reader want to fall in love.
Mission accomplished! I love how you used the pink theme to transition from one spectrum to the other.Well done!
