10:00-11:30 a.m. on Saturdays on Zoom

Host: Dr. Crag Hill, OWP Director

Featuring:  Published Poet--Paul Juhasz

Paul Juhasz is a Pushcart nominated author of five books: Fulfillment: Diary of a Warehouse Picker, a mock journal chronicling his seven-month term as a Picker at an Amazon Fulfillment Center; As If Place Matters, a collection of short fiction; and three collections of poetry: Ronin: Mostly Prose Poems, a finalist for the 2022 Oklahoma Book Award, The Inner Life of Comics, and The Fires of Heraclitus. He served as curator for the Woody Guthrie Poets from 2020-2024 and currently lives in Oklahoma City

All three virtual workshops will include learning from Paul with time to write, and time to share. Register for one or all three! Come fellowship and enjoy the wonder of the written word!

October 12: Strange Beast: An Introduction to the Prose Poem:  In this workshop, writers will learn about the history and craft conventions of this usually tolerated, occasionally celebrated poetic sub-genre.

November 9: Just Another Brick in the Wall: Poetic Imagery and Word Choice.  In this workshop, writers will learn to push themselves beyond the obvious, easily-available (and perhaps clichéd) image-driven word choices. It is highly recommended that each writer have a single brick with them for this workshop.

December 7: Playing with Form: Haiku, Tanka, and Pantoums, Oh My!  In this workshop, writers will be introduced to some traditional form-driven poetic genres. Writers will learn the rules guiding each form and then, hopefully have some fun breaking those rules.

Please register below.   You can register for just one or all 3!

Registration will close 3 days before each Saturday.
Zoom links will be sent only to those who are registered.
